Sankofa will be a series of anthropomorphic figures inspired by the Mangbetu tribes and Fon people of Dohamey.
The word Sankofa comes from the Twi language out of Ghana - and it means - to go back and get it.
Creating this series reconnects me with the mystery of past, the beauty in its simplicity and relationship with nature.
All pieces are hand-built, using pinch, coil and slab methods on varying clay bodies.
